I received a request for a fashionable take on custom Kicks. I thought it turned out well. I even added monogrammed initials. Enjoy.

I made my first custom kicks in the last two months of 2018. They took about two months to complete because I had no idea what I was doing. I had to redo several parts multiple times. As frustrating as it was, that’s how I learned.

Julia wanted me to customize her low rise Air Force 1’s. She had a clear idea of what she wanted so I simply did what she asked for. I think she has great taste.

My coworker, Tamara, has a daughter with a clear, creative vision of her custom kicks. About a year after I made them I asked Tamara if her daughter actually wears them. I’ve been an artist since I was little. In the early 90’s I started airbrushing. I started a small statuary business making lamps, vases, statues and furniture accessories that we sold to furniture stores. I had a large spray booth, a spray gun, and an airbrush. Our friend’s daughter was going to have her Bat Mitzvah in May of 2020. She wanted a pair of custom kicks, which she designed. But, Covid 19 quashed those plans. Maybe next year.
