I’m Steve

I’ve been an artist since I was little. In the early 90’s I started airbrushing. I started a small statuary business making lamps, vases, statues and furniture accessories that we sold to furniture stores. I had a large spray booth, a spray gun, and an airbrush. I had to cut all my stencils by hand. It was tedious. Plus the learning curve of using the Paasche VL airbrush that had a dual action trigger and three different sized heads was challenging.

After several years of trying to make the business successful, I had to move on. I went into sales and created art part time. Then I started raising kids and spent less time with the airbrush. Much less time.

A couple years ago I decided to spend more time on art and decided to make custom kicks. I brought out my old airbrush and started experimenting. But something was different. It wasn’t performing well. It constantly got clogged. I was wasting time taking it apart and cleaning it instead of painting. I thought perhaps there is a better tool on the market? I did research and found this excellent website: https://sites.google.com/site/donsairbrushtips/

The website owner recommends the Badger 155 Anthem. Without ever seeing one in person I bought it. Sure enough this is an amazing instrument! Now I spend very little time cleaning and declogging, and more time painting.

Besides creating art I love to play tennis, cook and travel. I also like to combine all three. For example, in 2015 my wife and I went to Italy. We took a cooking class in Florence plus I found a tennis class to participate in. I’ve also played tennis, cooked and traveled to Thailand, Cambodia, Israel, Mexico, and Australia. We took this year off because of Covid. Looking forward to the end of the Pandemic.

When I'm not selling mattress textiles I'm cooking, traveling and playing tennis.
